r/Renters
Happy Monday, folks. Here’s a cheerful one to start your week.

Looking for some advice. You know that churning pit of numbness and despair where you die if you look directly at it? It was included with my last place but I just noticed my landlord started charging a $150 “Pit Fee” last month. He said it’s a standard fee on all his properties now.
Is this legal? It doesn’t seem like I should be paying for something that wasn’t in the original lease, but I can’t find any law that mentions it.

depends, what state?

The crazy thing about this is that it wouldn’t even be the scariest story on r/Renters.
