Happy Monday! Here’s your weekly 100-word story:
Relative Quiet
Walter hated his grandkids. He preferred a quiet home, but Beth had wanted four kids, and each of theirs had wanted at least three.
When the cancer hit, they flocked around him like crows. Johnny needed braces, Jenny wanted to be a vet, everyone needed something.
Walter, he just wanted some peace.
So he sold his house, the old two-story Victorian, and used the money to buy out a trailer park in Louisville, Kentucky, where he lived out his days in relative quiet.
Walter died at age 72, but his family didn’t stop talking about him for another hundred years.
